Honey Roasted Hazelnut Peanut Butter

We all remember school lunches of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and snacks of peanut butter with apples and celery.  Sometimes there’s nothing more comforting to me than a good PB&J.  Many store bought peanut butters are packed with sugar and other ingredients we just don’t need in our bodies.  Here’s a basic and quick recipe for peanut butter using only four or five ingredients.  For a more exotic twist add hazelnuts.  I never thought I would describe peanut butter as “exotic,” but I guess I just did.

Ingredients:

  • approximately 1 and 2/3 cups peanuts or a mixture of raw nuts
  • approximately 3 Tbs honey
  • approximately 4 Tbs peanut oil
  • approximately 1 tsp salt

Since this is YOUR peanut butter, vary the ingredients as much as you want until you reach your preferred taste and consistency.
